FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to file a UK tax return in my first year after moving from Hong Kong or Taiwan?
Often, yes — especially if you still have income, rental property or savings interest in Hong Kong or Taiwan, or if you are self-employed. Whether split-year treatment applies depends on when and how you arrived. We check this in the free call.
Is rent from my flat in Hong Kong or Taiwan taxed in the UK?
If you are UK tax resident, overseas rental income is generally reportable in the UK. Tax already paid there can usually be credited against the UK liability, so you are not taxed twice on the same income.
Do you offer fixed fees?
Yes. We quote a fixed fee after the first call, before any work starts. The prices on this demo site are illustrative only.
Can we meet in person?
Yes — at our London office or by video call. Most clients do everything online, in Cantonese, Mandarin or English.
